A welcome week of change ✨

Illuminating + Ultimate Gray | The Great Conjunction | Capricorn Season
This week has been one of surrender and change and reflection and contemplation. Of hope and clarity and visioning. How unexpected ✨
If you, like me, are challenged by time- the comprehension of it, the management of it, the remembering of it, you’re often surprised by what weeks bring you regardless of what your planner indicates. This was that week for me.
Although in touch with astrology, I don’t abide by it religiously. I get excited about sun and moon signs when I get to know someone but rarely an I in tune with the astral shifts happening in real time. This week was different.
With Saturn moving into Aquarius, my sun sign, I was particularly invested in this shift; a day that asks us to witness the systems at hand and release our attachment to them so that we can innovate new ones in service of the collective good. This vision calls to me as I’ve always maintained this focus in my work and art.
The introduction of Capricorn season asks us to think about routine and structure and the importance this plays in bringing a vision to life.
For me, these to shifts speak specifically to my career and professional life. The marriage of these two at once inspired me to step into my power and to believe in my capabilities to the point of implementing structure and visioning, feeling, their reality.
This is a new concept for me as I’ve navigated so much of my life feeling like I HAD to work a conventional job (even though we ALL know that wasn’t going to happen 😅). And at this point, I feel constantly inspired and excited and curious and PATIENT about this process of figuring out and trial and error. I’m seeing the potential in myself and in my communities to create beautiful, helpful things that make the world better.
Much like the movement from a hazy gray to a bright, luminous yellow, so have my own ideas of who I’m here to be and what I’m capable of.
I invite you to consider this shift, too!
The sky impacts us all, for we are made of star dust. ✨

A New Earth: Awaken Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle
What’s W I L D to me is that this book was published in 2008 - 12 years ago - but speaks so specifically and readily to our current moment. The transition of 2020 to 2021 is one of awakening and rebirth; we have been forced to sit with ourselves and our systems and question e v e r y t h i n g. This is a time of detachment from what is to give space to what could be. A New Earth dives into the space between.

“Have Your Pickle and Eat It Too”
My nutrition coach and I collaborated on a piece that married our obsessions with food and mindfulness. In this essay, we begin the dismantle societal myths of diet culture and “cheat days” in favor of the experience of eating to E N J O Y your holidays.
